NepalBalGhar: The personel

Lars in his bookstoreI, my name is Lars M. Braaten, danish, born 1969 and educated in shops. I have worked in Denmark in Mik's supermarket, Magasin in Copenhagen and Lyngby, and ISO Hvidovre and travelled during this time in Nepal a couple of times.

When I had had enough of fixed working hours and other chains, I decided to travel abroad for a longer period of time. I spent two lovely months in Thailand, China and Hong Kong. After this I started at a school Brøndagerskolen in Albertslund, Denmark, a school/free time place for autistic children.

Those two years confirmed to me, that I wanted in some way to work with children, and Nepal was very close to my heart, I went to Nepal for 8 and a half months as a "tourist" - just to test myself a little. During this time I connected to different to different people in such a way, that Nepal Bal Ghar could start as a local NGO.

At the same time I met my wife, Sunita, another confirmation, that Nepal was the spot for me. The rest is now history. You can read all about it on the other pages.

My name is Rudra Tamang. I am the "daily Boss", I make sure everything is as nepalese as possible.

My name is Sarada

I'm the cook here at Nepal Bal Ghar. I have been here for 14 months now.

Rammaya Manandhar is 32 the sister of my wife. Rammaya buys all the food and the like. She is in the house tueday, wednesday, friday and saturday as our nepalese "boss". It works fine. The children are very fond of her, and the other persons of the personel show her much respect.

Archana Shresta is 30. She is teacher in our own school. Archana does a really good job and the children are very fond of her.

Sunita M. Braaten is my wife. She is the one, who has hit my head at the very beginning, telling me, when I was too danish. In general she has been my teacher in learning, what is right here in Nepal. Sunita is our ambassador to the outer world here in Nepal.
